A horse running through a grass field.

I became interested in using flaxseed (linseed) as a help in the control of sweet itch having read a scientific study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC227015/) which showed a reduced allergy response to midge bites. Since trying it on my own horse I am recommending it to all my clients’ sweet itch horses. My own horse up to last year had reasonably well controlled sweet itch, now this year with the addition of flaxseed in the diet, it would be impossible for anyone to tell she has sweet itch.
